From the ancient depths of the Triassic to the marls of the Lias, Jura’s soils hold the memory of time.

Clays, limestones, and minerals weave a living fabric, nourishing the vines with geological secrets. This delicate alchemy shapes wines with unique character—deep, tense, and vibrant with authenticity.

Arlay

A Natural Balance

In Arlay, the land breathes gently. The gray marls, moist and cool encourage patience in the vines. The climate—with its mild winters and generous summers—matures the grapes slowly and deliberately.

Biodynamics

A wave of the future

Since 2006, the Domaine has used biodynamic farming practices to harmonize with the rhythm of life. Under the moon and sun, without artifice, the vineyard thrives rooted in a sustainable vision. This choice is not just a method, but a legacy: cultivating today to pass on a better tomorrow, in respect for the soil, the fruit, and the planet.

Winter

The Stage of Silence

Winter lays its veil over the resting rows. The vine, stripped of its leaves, enters a restful pause. The winemaker stays alert, pruning with precision, respecting the rhythm of the trunks, listening to what the sap whispers. In the cellar or workshop, they prepare herbal infusions, compost, and biodynamic preparations: cow horn manure, silica, decoctions of nettle, yarrow, or valerian. Beneath the frozen earth, life slows but never truly sleeps

Spring

The awakening of life

The light returns, the vine stretches. Buds burst forth, fragile promises of the harvest to come.
This is the time for care. The winemaker sprays plant-based preparations, hand-stirred in water, respecting lunar and cosmic cycles.
The soil is nourished, not dominated. Sometimes green manures—clover, mustard, beans—are sown, enriching the earth without depleting it. Life awakens, the connection rekindles.

Summer

The vines in full bloom

The days grow longer and warmth settles in. The leaves flourish and the grape clusters begin to form. The winemaker observes, listens, and adjusts. No chemicals are used—only constant attention. Sometimes, an infusion of horsetail to strengthen the defenses of the plant. We favor balance over battle. The flowers attract beneficial insects. The soil breathes, the vines tell their stories. There is energy all around, visible and invisible.

Autumn

The essential harvest

The grapes ripen slowly, carefully. The winemaker tastes, smells, and feels the grapes. The bunches are harvested by hand with respect. Each bunch is a story, an echo of the season. Once the grapes are harvested, the cycle continues: the soils are tended to, composts spread, and preparations are restarted. The vines go into a period of rest, but their connections remain vibrant and alive.

Always
The Same Promise

Biodynamics are not a recipe, they are a dialogue and a listening to nature, the sky, and the earth. Agriculture rooted in care, intuition, and patience. It is felt in the wine: a vibration, an energy, a truth. Every season, every action matters, and in each bottle a trace of that breath lingers.
